la marque est Californienne (ils doivent encore faire des BMX ,je crois!! )
ce modéle là était fabriquait par Chris Herting (ancin de chez Yéti,créateur de sa propre marque 3D racing) a Durango.

Chris est un ami à moi. Voici son "Cush E," qui est fondamentalement le bout de l'iceberg de ses conceptions folles de FS. Il a un pour chaque jour de la semaine, mais elles prennent trop long à la construction!

Et on y voyait fleurir des prototypes dementiels avec des braquets géants

Il doit y'avoir plus de 60 dents devant

C'est la descente de Mammoth Mountain, la fameuse Kamikaze Downhill.

Je ne crois pas qu'il y avait une portion de route sur la Kamikaze.

Par contre, je suis sûr qu'il y avait beaucoup de grands chemins larges sans trop de virages où les pilotes pouvaient rouler à des vitesses hallucinantes (pas loin de 100km/h, de mémoire). Ils devaient rouler sur les pistes de ski de la station, en fait...

Le seul Français à l'avoir gagné est d'ailleurs François Gachet en 94, il me semble. Ils devaient l'avoir rebaptisé Reebok Eliminator, cette année là.

d'ailleur la MI 16 a toujours le record de vitesse de la montée je crois,il y a des vidéos embarquées hallucinantes sr cette montée,avec des caméras dans les pare chocs,ou tu vois que c'est limite tout le temps! et ça frotte sur les parroies!

Il y a ausi des vidéos sur Yétifan,de Missy Giove,remportant cette descente!
ça roule vite!
j'avais vu aussi Gachet,qui l'a gagné!avec le Sunn radical+ avec les freins a disques Sachs !!

Ha ça je savais pas que Pikes Peak et Kamikaze étaient un seul et même endroit.

Ca me fait penser, un gars de mon club travaillait pour un magazine Vtt anglais (Mountain Bike International) au début des '90s. Il a des histoires incroyables avec AC Chausson, c'était un peu sa protégée quand elle débutait et ils sont toujours restés en contact. Faut que je retrouve ça il l'a posté sur un forum.

Ce qui m'y a fait penser c'est une de ses anecdotes ou ils s'étaient tous bourrés la gueule après des victoires anglaises à Mammoth, et il avait essayé de rentrer en voiture, mais sans la démarrer (pour ne pas être en infraction!) sur la descente de Mammoth à la ville.

Anne-Caroline Chausson won so many downhill titles in a row I stopped counting after 10. Speaking of gorgeous rainbow jerseys, after winning her tenth she immediately removed it and gave it to me as a thank you for helping her out during her career.

Very brief history: I met her when she was a junior just out of BMX and riding for Sunn/Chippie at the Metabief world champs in 1993

The sport was growing very quickly then, and a small group of us were following the world cup circuit round the world writing and taking pics. I spent a lot of time with Sunn doing their brochure shots and Annie, being female but as quick as the boys, was in great demand wherever we went.

It was a bit daunting for her because she's quite shy. Sunn were a small team at that time and didn't have a big budget to send a support team to the US leg of the tour so Max Commencal the president asked me if I'd look after her for them on the 3-week trip which covered the Mount Snow (Vermont), Mammoth Mtn (california) and Mont St Anne (Quebec) races.

The rest as they say is history, for the next 12 years she won more world champions jerseys than any other cyclist alive and is unlikely to ever be surpassed - we remained close all through her career (I won't go into detail about some of our post race exploits at various locations in America, Japan and Europe!!!). She also wrote a column for me every month in the magazine for a couple of years

She met her partner Phillipe Billy (then the world record holder for speed skiing) and moved to his hometown of Vars at the end of the 90s and I stayed with them several times during the off-season but not being much of a skiier (bad knees) I visited them more often when they were at her family home in Dijon. I still keep in regular touch and always try and visit her if I'm in the area for Cycling Weekly.

So the fact that she gave me her 10th world's jersey meant a lot to me and I value it highly

After a mountain bike race at high altitude in California’s Mammoth Mountain I was in no condition to do anything other than go to sleep. The base camp at Mammoth is 10,000ft above sea level and the race went way higher than that above the tree line and into the snow (despite the fact that it was June). Anyway racing at high altitude does weird things to your body and mind and I was exhausted. Trouble is our two pro riders on the day Caroline Alexander and Gary Foord had had an amazing day, getting 2nd and 1st respectively in the Elite world cup race that followed our humble event. That was the equivalent of Nicole Cooke and Roger Hammond getting 1st and 2nd in a spring classic, on the road in the same day. Naturally the British camp was exulted and we hit the bars around town in celebration. Foord did the honourable thing and got pissed on about two pints and went home crying. Alexander, being a Barrow-In-Furness gal is made of much sterner stuff, and we drank heartily until about mid evening with things started to get wobbly. Inevitably I suggested driving back to our hotel down the mountain because instances of attack by bears in that area, is fairly common. “You’re drunk” she said “I’m walking,” and, wisely she did. I took umbrage, decided that bears wouldn’t find much meat on a world-class, female cross-country racer and would probably leave her alone so she was safe and I’d show her that I was perfectly capable of driving back down the mountain.

Now I’ve never driven a car after drinking before and was clearly in no condition to do so here. Also, in California, if you’re convicted they not only lock you up and throw away the key; they hang you, then lock you up and throw away the key. So, sitting behind the wheel in the car park a kind of skewed logic came over me and I figured that if I didn’t start the engine I wasn’t technically ‘driving’. And there’d be no lights on and stuff, a kind of ‘stealth mode.’ The hotel was about 2 miles away, all downhill, easily freewheelable.

So I eased off the handbrake and inched toward the road. Modern cars don’t like being freewheeled, engine off of course and this one reminded me of that fact at the bend out of the car park which it refused to go around without the aid of power assisted steering. Power assisted brakes might also have allowed me to prevent it rolling gently into the trees, but alas these too were non operational in ‘stealth’ mode. That’s my entire lifetime experience of drinking and driving, I’d gone about 20 feet and crashed at 5mph. The hire car company were very understanding.

la course de VTT a lieu sur un parcours en sable "blanc"
donc pas le meme lieu
de la part de CHERLOC

et puis il y a des passages ou ce serait impossible de passer en voiture .
